MBE Ltd has a track record of providing structural and civil design consultancy services to assist with many forms of residential development. When we talk about “residential” projects, we are usually referring to projects that private entities or public bodies undertake to provide new housing stock. 

Such projects usually involve creating modern and affordable housing, or new multi-storey flats.  Sometimes adapting the occupancy class of an old existing building for a change of use to enable residential accommodation and modernisation.  Sometimes the project can involve re-used / remodelled buildings and their refurbishment, usually improving the aesthetic or quality of the environment for the occupants / tenants.  These can be developments on brownfield or greenfield sites.

Our typical engagements include the design and detailing of new housing from five to forty plots.  Sometimes we are engaged solely to design and detail the foundations, as might be the case for offsite forms of construction such as timber framed buildings, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) or volumetric builds.

Whether you require initial design advice, perhaps appraising and understanding the constraints of a building or a site, or you require advice with respect to the investigation of a site, we can assist from the earliest stages, helping to minimise client risk through a range of pre-purchase surveys and advisory services.  Mostly we are engaged by our clients to provide detailed designs from planning stage to completion.  And, through our experience with these projects, we are able to work effectively to collaborate with the other team members.

Furthermore, whatever the complexity of your project, we can be engaged either as your directly retained structural engineer or be novated to work on a design and build basis.  We can work either on a time charge or fixed fee basis to suit.

We can also accommodate a broad variety of structural engineering requirements and if needed by the client, we can also pull in the services of trusted infrastructure designers to support our structural engineering capabilities.
